Mosque built by Qasim inaugurated in Maamigili

A newly built mosque in ADh. Maamigili, funded and constructed by prominent businessman and Maamigili MP Qasim Ibrahim, was officially inaugurated on Friday.

The mosque, named Masjid Ibrahim, was jointly inaugurated by Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed by Qasim Ibrahim.

After the ceremony, Minister Shaheem led the Friday congregational prayer at the new facility.

Designed to accommodate up to 800 worshippers, the mosque includes separate prayer areas and ablution facilities for men and women. The entire building is fully air-conditioned to ensure comfort for attendees.

Senior members of the Maamigili Council and local residents were present at the opening event.

This is the second mosque Qasim Ibrahim has built in Maamigili within the past year. On February 15 of last year, he inaugurated another mosque with space for around 300 worshippers.

Qasim Ibrahim has represented the Maamigili constituency in Parliament since 2009.

According to the most recent census, Maamigili has a population of 2,803 people.
