The officer sustained significant head trauma and heavy bleeding during the incident, which was captured in video footage showing him being escorted from an apartment amidst public confrontation. While the officer has received medical care, authorities confirmed he was not performing official duties at the time of the attack. Video footage circulating on social media shows the officer being escorted out of a Hiyaa apartment by several police officers while suffering from a severe head injury and heavy bleeding. The footage also shows some members of the public attempting to confront him as he was being taken away.
Several serious allegations concerning the injured officer have also been circulating on social media.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the officer has received medical treatment at a hospital. Preliminary information indicates that the officer was not on official duty at the time of the assault.
