Former Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has been reappointed to a senior position at the President’s Office at ministerial rank.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Nazim as the Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto last week.
Nazim previously served as Health Minister during former President Abdulla Yameen. He also held a senior post at the President’s Office under the current administration before being appointed Heath Minister on September 30, 2024.
Nazim resigned from the post on April 14 as part of a major cabinet reshuffle initiated by the President following government's poor performance in the local council elections and referendum held last April.
Several ministers who stepped down during the reshuffle and are now being appointed to new positions. In this regard, Adam Shareef, who served as the Local Government Minister, has been nominated as Ambassador to Qatar, while former Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has been nominated as Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
