Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday requested the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) for another extension, after the already extended deadline for publicizing its financial reports lapsed.

The state-owned company has three financial publications pending; its Q4 2025 financial statements and report, its 2025 financial statements and report, and its Q1 2026 financial statements and report.

Its Q4 2025 reports were due on March 10. However, the company has requested an extension for the third time now.

In a statement, MTCC said it had tried to publicize the reports by the June 15 deadline.

The company said that it however, needs more time to finalize the reports for the benefit of its shareholders, and has therefore requested the CMDA to extend the deadline to August 20.

MTCC, as a company listed in the Maldives Stock Exchange, is required to publicize its financial statements.

The repeated requests for extensions come as economic analysts warn that state-owned enterprises face mounting financial strain.
