The President has directed the Cabinet to speed up stalled development projects across the country. A Cabinet working session held on Tuesday focused on expediting the implementation of ongoing government projects.

According to the President’s Office, the meeting reviewed the President’s electoral pledges and development initiatives underway in all islands, with Cabinet members and heads of state-owned companies participating in the discussions.

The President instructed the Cabinet to revive numerous stalled projects, noting that solutions have now been secured for material shortages caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. With these constraints resolved, he urged ministries and implementing agencies to resume work swiftly.

He also called on officials to work with renewed determination to ensure that individual projects are completed within their stipulated timelines.

The opposition has repeatedly claimed that many projects are not being implemented in rural areas. However, the government maintains that delays stem from actions taken by the previous administration.
