StatePharma has denied social media claims that folic acid is out of stock in Male' city, stating that the nutrient remains available in its main warehouse and across its pharmacies.

Concerns had been raised online suggesting that Male' city was facing a shortage of folic acid, a supplement widely used by pregnant women. StatePharma said the rumors were unfounded and clarified that folic acid continues to be supplied without interruption. The company added that its stock levels are stable and that the public will continue to receive essential medicines without difficulty.

StatePharma also said it monitors any emerging shortages and responds immediately to ensure availability, noting that no disruption has occurred in the supply of folic acid.

Folic acid, a form of vitamin B9, is crucial for the production of new cells. Pregnant women are recommended to take 400 micrograms daily, as the nutrient supports the development of the unborn baby’s brain and spinal cord. Health experts also advise non-pregnant individuals to take 400 micrograms daily and to consume folic-acid-rich foods such as oranges and leafy greens.
