Sun Siyam Resorts signs as title and platinum partner for Vara Expo 2026

Sun Siyam Resorts has officially signed an agreement to become the Title and Platinum Sponsor of this year’s ‘Vara Expo’, organized by the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labor and Technology.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held on Thursday at the Umar Zahir Building by State Minister Dr. Abdulla Nazeer and Sun Siyam Group’s Deputy Managing Director Zulaikha Manik.

Following the signing, State Minister Nazeer expressed his gratitude to Sun Siyam Group for joining the expo as a Platinum Partner. He highlighted that the partnership reflects the efforts of Sun Siyam Group’s Chairman Ahmed Siyam Mohamed to empower young people and create employment opportunities.

He further noted that Vara Expo has served in recent years as a centralised platform connecting young people with higher education, vocational training and opportunities offered by the country’s leading employers.

“Building on the success of previous years, our target for this year is to showcase these skills to approximately 35,000 young people and facilitate around 1,500 job opportunities through the expo,” Nazeer stated. He added that the partnership with Sun Siyam Group was expected to take this year’s event to new heights.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zulaikha said it was an honour for the company to serve as the expo’s Platinum Partner. She emphasised that the decision aligned with Chairman Siyam’s vision of empowering Maldivian youth.

“Our Chairman has always prioritized the advancement and leadership of talented Maldivian youth within the tourism industry. Through this expo, we will provide information on various job opportunities and internship programs available across Sun Siyam Resorts and other group companies,” she said.

Zulaikha also revealed that this year’s expo would feature a unique concept, adding that the Sun Siyam Group team was working diligently to ensure its success. She encouraged young people to visit the expo and make the most of the opportunities available.

She also thanked the Ministry’s leadership for the opportunity to participate and reaffirmed Sun Siyam Group’s commitment to developing a new generation of professionals for the tourism sector.

Vara Expo 2024 is scheduled to take place from November 26th to November 28th at Hulhumalé Central Park.

Sun Siyam Group’s Chairman Ahmed Siyam Mohamed is widely recognised for his significant contributions to youth empowerment and his commitment to creating opportunities for Maldivians.
