Heart health advocacy group Tiny Hearts of Maldives has completed is national awareness initiative Heart Healthy Raajje, with funding from Bank of Maldives (BML) through its Bank Fund initiative.
Heart Healthy Raajje, a national project promoting physical activity and heart-healthy lifestyles, was guided by the Maldives Physical Activity Guidelines, and produced 10 inclusive exercise videos for different age groups, fitness levels and abilities, including children, babies, pregnant women, adults and older persons.
The videos are freely available on a dedicated Instagram page and the Tiny Hearts of Maldives website.
Downloadable versions are also provided so community networks can share them more widely.
By making exercise more accessible and encouraging regular activity, the initiative aims to contribute to national efforts to prevent non-communicable diseases.
Bank Fund is the BML’s annual grant program for registered NGOs. Each year, five projects are selected and funded, with each organization receiving MVR 200,000 to implement projects that benefit communities across the Maldives.
