Yemeni government forces have carried out 875 military operations against the Houthis militia in recent hours, claiming to have killed or incapacitated 130 militia members.
Military spokesman Majed al-Nazili said in a statement on X platform that the coordinated strikes targeted Houthi militia positions, reinforcements, and military hardware as part of Operation Dawn of Yemen.
Al-Nazili stated that fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and heavy artillery supported the ground assaults, which destroyed or damaged 50 military vehicles and pieces of equipment, including missile launchers.
Clashes intensify across frontlines
In the southwestern Taiz province, government troops alongside allied Popular Resistance fighters continued repelling Houthi militia assaults whilst bombarding the group's staging posts and logistical movements.
Additional military units engaged Houthi reinforcements and defensive emplacements in Marib and Al-Jawf provinces.
The army further confirmed ongoing combat operations conducted by government-aligned formations across both southern and western frontlines.
The military maintained that its forces were executing tactical precautions to safeguard civilian populations and adjacent civilian infrastructure.
Yemen has remained gripped by conflict since 2014, when Houthi militia took control of the capital, Sanaa, and vast swathes of the country.
A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 to support the internationally recognised government.
Renewed military confrontation between government forces and the Houthis militia escalated sharply in July after a truce in place since 2022 collapsed.
