The Housing Ministry has announced plans to develop 1,000 affordable housing units in the third phase of Hulhumale'.
According to the announcement, Maldivian companies are invited to submit proposals for the design and construction of the units. Proposals must be submitted by 13:00 on the 23rd of next month.
The ministry said land will be allocated free of charge for the construction of the housing units.
The project will include three‑bedroom units of at least 950 square feet and two‑bedroom units of at least 700 square feet. Additional information will be made available next month, the ministry added.
The announcement comes at a time when housing remains one of the most pressing issues in the Greater Male' Region, where many residents face high rental costs and limited availability of affordable accommodation.
