President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has commended over 100 youths from the first batch of the national service program for choosing to join the military.
137 youths from the first batch of the national service program launched by President Muizzu successfully completed Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s basic training course on Thursday.
In a post on X on Saturday, President Muizzu said he launched the national service program to build a self-confident, faithful, spiritually and physically strong and responsible younger generation.
He said that the 137 youths from the first batch who completed the MNDF’s basic training course span70 islands across 20 atolls.

He congratulated cadets who won prizes in the course, and commended all 137 graduates for choosing to join military service.
A total of 350 students took part in the first batch of national service training, of whom 344 graduated last December. The second batch graduated in May, and the third batch left for training last week.
