State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supply Corporation (State Pharma) states that although State Trading Organization (STO) pharmacies will be counting inventory over the next three days starting Wednesday amid the transition period, the pharmacies will continue to dispense medicine for doctor’s prescriptions.
Over 190 pharmacies run by STO are being transferred to the management of State Pharma.
The STO announced on Tuesday that the pharmacies will be counting inventory for the three days from Wednesday and Friday, but will continue to have medicine available for emergency needs.
A spokesperson from State Pharma clarified on Wednesday that the pharmacies will continue to dispense medicine for prescriptions.
State Pharma is set to officially take over the pharmacies run by STO on July 1. But the corporation’s managing director Dr. Shah Mahir estimates it will take around six months for new system to settle in.
