Fire breaks out at Male’ home; one hospitalized for smoke inhalation

A fire broke out at a home in the Machangolhi district of Male’ City on Tuesday, leaving at least one person injured.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) stated that the fire broke out at Ma. Sukkathuraage, located in Ameena Rani Hingun, at around 09:46 am.

One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, said the MNDF.

According to the MNDF, the fire originated from the bottom compartment of a cupboard located in the living room and kitchen area of the house.

The MNDF said that the Fire and Rescue Service has managed to put out the fire, with firefighters now working on clearing the smoke.

Both firefighters and police are at the scene.
