Technical problem triggers power outage in parts of Hulhumale' first phase

A technical problem has caused a power outage in some areas of the first phase of Hulhumale'.

STELCO said the outage was caused by a technical issue in its distribution network.

The company said the problem has now been identified and resolved, and apologized for any inconvenience caused to residents.

There was also a power outage in parts of the first phase of the city last Thursday.

In recent years, power outages have increased in Male' and Hulhumale'. These include full blackouts across both islands and prolonged outages in towers in the second phase of Hulhumale'.

STELCO says it is working to keep up with the growing demand for electricity in the city.
