Hajj Corporation arranges free vaccination for umrah pilgrims in the atolls

Maldives Hajj Corporation has made arrangements for umrah pilgrims who live outside Male’ to receive vaccination free of charge from the local medical facility closest to them.

Free vaccination for umrah pilgrims was previously available solely from Male’. But on Wednesday, the Hajj Corporation announced the program has now been expanded to the atolls ahead of the November pilgrimage.

Hajj Corporation states that pilgrims who live in Male’ can get vaccinated at the Mafannu Urban Primary Health Center, while pilgrims living in other islands can get vaccinated from their local health center or hospital.

Pilgrims have been asked to download the vaccination request form from the Hajj Corporation’s Faheli Portal, and take it to the nearest health facility for get vaccinated free of charge. The same document can be used to procure vaccines from State Pharma pharmacies.

Pilgrims are required to get vaccinated for influenza, meningitis and polio when travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Hajj Corporation’s managing director Mohamed Firzul Abdulla Khaleel told Sun on Wednesday that they were now fully booked for the November umrah.

The first batch of pilgrims from the corporation are set to depart for Mecca on October 29.
