Maldives Hajj Corporation on Saturday announced plans to launch direct flights between Addu City’s Gan and Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah for umrah pilgrims in upcoming Ramadan.
Hajj Corporation said the decision was made for the convenience of pilgrims from Addu and other islands in southern Maldives.
The flights are for the last 15 days of the holy month.
According to Hajj Corporation, pilgrims will be able to fly directly to Jeddah from the Gan International Airport on February 20.
The corporation’s umrah package for the last 15 days of Ramadan is priced at MVR 48,965, while the package for the entire Ramadan is priced at MVR 54,965.
Bookings are open for both packages via the Faheli Portal and via Hajj Corporation’s website.
“Hajj Corporation’s biggest priority has always been to improve the quality and continence of services provided for hajj and umrah pilgrims,” added the corporation.

Hajj Corporation plans to continue direct Gan-Jeddah flights for upcoming umrah trips in July and December as well.
The flights will be conducted via the national airline Maldivian’s wide-body aircraft.
The launch of direct Gan-Jeddah flights will eliminate the need for pilgrims living in the south to travel all the way to Male’ to depart for Saudi Arabia.
