A vehicle belonging to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) was involved in a significant road accident while traveling from Hulhumalé toward the airport. The vehicle crashed into the protective fencing on the Malé–Hulhumalé highway, causing it to overturn. Two occupants sustained injuries in the collision and were promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. The Maldives Police Service responded to the scene to manage the situation and conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident. Traffic authorities continue to monitor the area to ensure road safety and clear the wreckage from the highway.
Two individuals are receiving medical treatment following an accident involving a vehicle belonging to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which was traveling from Hulhumalé to the airport when it crashed into the bridge fence.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the accident occurred on the Malé–Hulhumalé highway when the vehicle collided with roadside fencing. Authorities confirmed that police officers are currently present at the scene.
Police further stated that two occupants sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Statistical data released by the police for the current year indicates that a total of 2,493 cases have been reported so far. Road traffic accidents constitute the second-highest category of reported incidents, with 683 cases recorded to date.
