MWSC partners with Maumoon Foundation to offer Master’s degree scholarship

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has signed a partnership agreement with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s Maumoon Foundation to offer a Master’s degree scholarship.

The Memorandum of Understanding for the initiative was signed on Thursday by MWSC’s Managing Director Hussain Fahmy and Maumoon’s eldest son, Ahmed Faris Maumoon.

According to MWSC, the MOU with Maumoon Foundation is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to enhance access to tertiary education opportunities in the Maldives.

Through this initiative, MWSC has sponsored a Master’s degree scholarship at the Maldives National University (MNU).

The company said it seeks to contribute to the development of skilled professionals and supporting the advancement of education nationwide.

The scholarship is being provided through the Maumoon Foundation, with has worked with various partners in the past to provide educational opportunities.

The latest scholarship is directed at individuals who face financial constraints in pursuing higher education.
