Police say the boat involved in Thursday evening’s collision with a speedboat did not stop after the incident.
According to police, a speedboat named LGN 101 docked at Male' City’s Izzuddin Jetty on Boduthakurufaanu Magu and reported the accident at 21:16 on Thursday night.
Police said the other vessel involved in the collision left the scene without stopping.
A total of five people, four foreign men and one Maldivian man, were taken to IGMH for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident.
The accident occurred at 9:10 pm near the official jetty of Male' City.
Videos and photos circulating from the scene show the speedboat, LGN 101, sustained severe damage, with seats destroyed and one side of the vessel badly crushed.
